Documentation & Help
This page explains how to schedule a bandwidth change on the Lumen Internet on-Demand platform and, for each field you are asked for, where to find the value. You do not need to be signed in to read it. If you get stuck, see Getting help at the bottom.
Submitting a bandwidth change
From the Submit Change page you queue a one-off bandwidth change for one of your services. The request is written as a pending action and applied automatically the next time the scheduler runs (or at the time you choose). The fields are:
| Field | What it is | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
| Tenant | The account / organisation the change belongs to. | Pick it from the drop-down. The tenants you can see are the ones set up for you during onboarding. If the tenant you expect is missing, contact us — see Getting help. |
| Service ID | The Lumen identifier for the specific circuit / link you want to change. | Found on your Lumen Control Center service inventory, on the order confirmation for the service, or on a previous invoice. It is the same ID Lumen uses to identify the link on your account. |
| Bandwidth | The target speed you want the link set to. |
Enter the value your service supports, for example
500 Mbps or 1 Gbps. The available
tiers are the ones provisioned for your Internet on-Demand
service; if you are unsure of the valid values, check your
service contract or ask us.
|
| Run at (optional) | When the change should take effect. | Leave it blank to apply the change as soon as the scheduler next runs. To schedule it for later, pick a date and time. The time is in UTC, so convert from your local time zone before entering it. |
After you submit, you are taken to a confirmation page. The change then appears in the activity history with its current status.
Calendar-driven changes
Besides submitting changes by hand, the platform can read a connected Microsoft 365 or Google Calendar and apply changes automatically from calendar events. This is set up for you during onboarding.
When it is enabled, you schedule a change simply by creating a calendar event. The same pieces of information are needed — the service ID, the target bandwidth, and the start / end time of the event determine when the change is applied and reverted. The exact subject-line format your calendar is matched against is configured per account; ask us for the pattern that applies to you if you have not been given it.
Checking the status of a change
Once you are signed in, the Dashboard shows your recent changes and whether each one is pending, running, completed, or failed. The Logs page lets you filter the full history by service, status, or date. If a change shows as failed, open it to see the error detail, then contact us with the service ID and time if you need help resolving it.
Getting help
If something is not working as expected — a tenant or service is missing, a bandwidth value is rejected, or a change failed — reach out to your Lumen Internet on-Demand support contact. When you do, include the tenant, the service ID, the time of the change (in UTC), and any error message shown on the change's detail page. That information lets us track it down quickly.
